Migrant Education, Region XVIII

Migrant Education - young girl

Migrant Education Programs (MEP) operate in 18 school districts in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. The MEP provides 2,160 migrant students and families with supplemental instruction, health support and referral, and parent involvement services that supplement existing programs at district school sites.

On July 1, 2017, the operation of the Region 18 Migrant Program transitioned from the Santa Barbara County Education Office (SBCEO) to the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education (SLOCOE).  A mutually supportive year-long transition process will occur to ensure that our migratory students and families continue to receive exceptional services. The transition will be complete as of June 30, 2018.
