Juvenile Court and Community Schools

Senate Bill 172

This law took effect January 1, 2016. If you think you met all applicable graduation requirements other than passage of the high school exit exam, please contact the Juvenile Court and Community Schools office at (805) 967-5307.

Community Schools

The Community Schools in Santa Maria provide credit-recovery courses and support for students who want to return to and graduate from their schools of residence. We offer voluntary enrollment to students seeking an alternative setting in which they feel they can be more successful, and we serve students who have been expelled or are at risk of expulsion. Our schools also support students who transition from Los Prietos Boys Camp or Santa Barbara County Juvenile Hall to their home schools.

Our main goal is to support the school districts we serve and their students. We make every effort to help students return to their home schools whenever possible. For those who show a need for our continued support, we offer the opportunity to graduate through our schools.
